Whilst it it true that technology has facilitated great change to the distribution of 'content' it is vital not to forget your audience. You need to ensure your content is in 'their' best interest - it is story first, told with authority and intelligence. Content marketing should alway add value -if the content doesn't feel authentic your audience is not going to listen...we are moving towards an even greater reliance on social media platforms and these need to retain a human side or the message will easily be lost.
